Nurses are able to provide a high level of skilled nursing, including ventilator expertise, tracheostomy care, enteral tube feeding, and injectable medications. We offer additional nursing services as well. In general, they have the expertise to administer a wide range of treatments based on the physician's order.
Nursing assistants provide services that include personal care, such as bathing, dressing, hair shampooing, mouth and skin care. The nursing assistants can help with bathroom needs and are trained to give aid with walking. They can also perform range-of-motion exercises with patients. Time permitting, the nursing assistants can perform light housekeeping duties, such as meal preparation and clean up, dusting, using the vacuum, and doing laundry. It must be pointed out, however, that the primary focus of care is meeting the physical needs of the patient.
When Professional Nursing Services, Inc. begins a case, our staff is oriented/trained and has a nursing plan to follow. We would appreciate any input you could add to personalize the care even more. This might include the type of television show the patient enjoys, topics of conversation enjoyed most, the way make-up is applied, names of relatives, pets, type of foods enjoyed — just to give you an idea of what is helpful.
